Physiotherapy is a science based profession specialising in the prevention and treatment of soft tissue (muscle, joint and tendon), joint and neurological conditions that affect movement and function. The aim of physiotherapy is to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence and performance.

Melanie qualified from the University of Brighton in 2002 as a human physiotherapist and has since worked with people. She completed her Masters degree at the Royal Veterinary College, qualifying her to treat animals. She now works with large and small animals, as well as maintaining some human work. She is a member of the chartered society of physiotherapists (CSP), and the association of chartered physiotherapists in animal therapy (ACPAT).

All pets seeing the the physiotherapist have to be referred via a veterinary surgeon.
