Andrew Murdoch

Andrew Murdoch BVM&S GP cert (SAS) MRCVS

Andrew graduated from Edinburgh University in 2003. He spent 3 years in mixed practice in Durham before starting at Ashfield House in June 2006.

Out of work Andrew is a keen Sunderland football Club supporter.

Andrew completed a 2 year certificate in small animal surgery. He passed the exam in September 2009 and is now a General Practitioner in small animal surgery - well done. Andrew is one of our Saturday Vets.

 

Kat Benstead

Kat Benstead BVSc (Hons) MRCVS

Katherine is an Honours graduate of Liverpool Vet School. She graduated in 2007 and has worked for Ashfield House since August 2007 with special interests in soft tissue surgery. Kat is currently studying for a Surgical Certificate in advanced veterinary practice (small animal surgery).

She has a cat called Poppy who was rehomed from Ashfield House as well as a Lurcher called Mack. Kat enjoys Pilates and Boxercise at the gym and she is married to Matt.

 

 

Patricia Gomez

Patricia Gomez de la Vega Cert VC  MRCVS

 

Patricia graduated from Madrid University in 1999. She had been working in England for 9 years, of which 6 of them had been based in beautiful Derbyshire. Patricia started working at Ashfield House in November 2009.

She loves small animal medicine with a special interest in cardiology having gained her Cardiology Veterinary Certificate in September 2007.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, countryside walking and step and body combat classes in the gym.

She has a beautiful English Springer Spaniel called Kiara and a cute and cheeky cat called Leo.

Laura Pugh

Laura Pugh

Laura graduated from Edinburgh University in 2009. She has previously worked at a busy small animal practice in Reading and a very mixed practice (Aardwolfs to Zebra finches) in Dover! She joined Ashfield House in September 2011. 

Laura is particulary interested in exotic pets and is always excited to see anything small and furry; feather or scaled!  She has started a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and is planning to study the exotic pets modules. She also has a qualification in Veterinary Acupuncture.

Outside of work, Laura likes to be outdoors and enjoys cycling, walking, kayaking, skiing and sailing.  She has an adopted parakeet called Rosie.

Emma Cosens

Emma Cosens BVSc MRCVS

Emma graduated from the University of Bristol in 1999 and has been working in small animal practice in Nottingham since then.  She is based at the Byron Clinic branch in Aspley where she has worked since April 2005.  Emma's main veterinary interests are soft tissue surgery and feline medicine.
Emma has 2 cats, both of whom were adopted through her work as a vet.
Out of work her interests include amateur dramatics, with a local group in Long Eaton, Salsa and Zumba.

 

 

Ben Pugh

Ben Pugh

Ben graduated with honours from Liverpool in 2007 and has since then been in small animal practice with Byron Vets, which has now become a branch of
Ashfield House. He has a particular interest in Ophthalmology.

In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym and playing football; and being a pro diver, he is often found below the waves when he goes away on holidays.

He has a Bengal cat called Phoebe who is a minx!
