Amanda joined Ashfield House in 1994, before qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 1997.

She became Head Nurse in the year 2000 and leads a great team of 16 nurses and 5 nursing assistants. Amanda is also the lead clinical coach, so is involved in the training of new veterinary nurses. She enjoys working in the surgical theatres the most, especially the preparation and organisation.

Amanda owns a huge gorgeous German Shephard called ‘Bowe’, whom she adores. Amanda is also an avid supporter of Derby County Football Club, whom she has followed for decades.

Amanda is a proud Aunty to Bethany (also an RVN) and Lewis, a semi-pro footballer, and has recently become a great Aunty to Ivy.

All of her spare time is centred around her close family, alongside jetting abroad at least three times a year!

Louise is our deputy head nurse having qualified in 1988. She is one of our senior team members having worked for Ashfield House since 1994.

She gained her City and Guilds Small Animal Nutrition Certificate in 1995 and her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Surgical Nursing in 2001.

Her main interests are in surgery, especially orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery, and is responsible for stock control at the practice.

In her spare time Louise enjoys spending time with her Border Collie Puppy Tyler and horse Inca. Louise is a keen football fan of Leeds Utd and attends all home matches.

Helen is a senior member of our nursing team, having worked at Ashfield House since 1996. She gained her nursing qualification in 1999 and went on to complete her City and Guilds qualification in Small Animal Nutrition shortly after.

Helen is also a clinical coach having achieved her NVQ Assessor status in 2005 and has subsequently trained and mentored many student nurses through their nursing qualifications and exams.

Her main areas of interest are theatre work and surgical nursing. She also undertakes many of the routine dental procedures and dental x-rays performed within the practice.

Outside of work Helen has a busy family life with her two children – Luke and Emma. They have a cat named Lilly and two Gerbils called Coco and Roxy.

Rebecca Started at Ashfield House Veterinary Hospital as a trainee Veterinary Nurse in July 2011 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in April 2014.

Since qualifying Rebecca has completed a Diploma in Canine Studies and a certificate in Puppy Training. Rebecca runs our puppy club classes with Bethany and manages our in-house laboratory, ensuring all the machines are thoroughly maintained and well stocked.

Rebecca loves all aspects of veterinary nursing; medical, hospital, theatre, consulting and of course lab work. Rebecca has a busy homelife with her husband, looking after 3 young children; Kaleb and her twins Arlo and Theo.

Despite being kept on her toes she adores being a mummy! Rebecca also has a beautiful German Shepherd Cross called Ava that completes her family.

Sarah has worked for Ashfield House for many years, starting as a receptionist in 2009 and then starting her veterinary nursing training later that year.

She completed and became a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) in 2012. She has since completed a Certificate in ‘Emergency and Critical Care’ and has a Diploma in Veterinary nursing of Zoological species.

She has run a puppy club for many years, has helped with Pet Blood Bank services and has fostered many Cats and kittens over the years.

Now she is part of the emergency night team and is planning on starting her Graduate and then Post Graduate diploma in Veterinary Nursing in the near future.

Adele is a veterinary nurse and the longest serving member of staff in the practice – in 2013 she gained her 25 years service award! The signed picture hangs at the Spondon Surgery where she is based.
She has had various pets in the past: mice, outdoor goldfish, flying stick insects, guinea pigs and a cat.
Her hobbies are horse-riding, reading and playing her cornet in the Silver Prize Brass Band.

Bethany started working at Ashfield House in 2014 as a nursing assistant after attaining her National Diploma in Animal Management at Brackenhurst College. Bethany qualified as an RVN in 2018 and has been heavily involved in the running of Puppy Club.

Bethany joined the out of hours nursing team in 2019 and enjoys the work/life balance it brings.

Spare time is spent with her Golden Retriever ‘Willow’ and four horses – Tiny, Jack, Storm and Dudley. Bethany became a mother to baby Ivy in 2021.

Agnes is a registered Veterinary Nurse, and is part of our out of hours nursing team. She graduated in 2018 from Nottingham Trent University with a FdSc Veterinary Degree. She joined Ashfield House in December 2020, having previously worked at an Orthopaedic referral centre and a first opinion hospital.

She loves all aspects of veterinary nursing but particularly enjoys emergency and critical care, medical nursing and anaesthesia.

Outside of work Agnes spends time with her two little fur-babies; an ex-stray cat called JiJi and an elderly Golden Retriever called Goldi.

She thoroughly enjoys singing off key, drawing and painting, expanding her nursing knowledge and spending time with family.

Kylie has worked at the Byron Surgery as a Veterinary Nurse since 2008. Before she gained her qualification in Veterinary Nursing she studied at Brackenhurst College and achieved a National Diploma in Animal Management.

After completing the National Diploma she stayed on and gained her foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing.

She was placed at the Byrons clinic and has remained ever since. In 2021 Kylie gained her Nurses Certificate in Anaesthesia and Analgesia which is part of the job she loves the most.

Outside of work Kylie has many pets including 3 dogs (Bertie, Millie and Peanut), 2 rescue cats (Izzy and Nala) and a horse (Maisie).

Kylie has also hand reared many kittens and fostered many cats throughout her career until they reach their forever homes.

Alex Joined Ashfield House in February 202 which took her into her 20th year of veterinary nursing. Alex particularly enjoys emergency and critical care, medical nursing.

Outside of work, Alex has a passion for all things equine, qualifying as an Equissage massage Therapist in 2018.

Her little gang at home consists of 2 dogs (Hank and Sky), 2 cats (Ron and Reg), a bearded dragon (Lestat) and the largest of the bunch, Louie the horse.

Emily joined Ashfield House back in 2005 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2008. She then returned to us as a full time Consulting Nurse in January 2022, based at our Long Eaton Hospital.

Her main interest is in the behaviour of dogs, cats and rabbits, and has completed a variety of courses over her time as a nurse. 

At home she spends her time with a Collie cross called Pebbles, a Doberman called Louie and a Jack Russell called Pip, she also has a foster dog, a Westie, called Eric. 

Emily enjoys kickboxing and visiting animal sanctuaries in her spare time.

Meg has wanted to be a veterinary nurse since she was a little girl, and graduated in 2023. She loves taking care of our inpatients, running diagnostics in our in-house laboratory and taking radiographs. When she’s not working, she enjoys taking photos, playing golf with her boyfriend, catching up with friends and taking care of her rabbit, Ralph.

Georgina graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2023, and joined our team the same year. She spends much of her spare time paddle boarding, coasteering, going on adventures in the Peak District and camping with her friends and loved ones.

Georgia trained and qualified at a veterinary referral hospital in County Durham, where she worked as a medicine nurse. She joined us in 2023 and acts as a consulting nurse, working across all our branches. She has a particular passion for feline medicine, and enjoys baking and competing in local archery competitions in her free time.

Lauren is currently a student veterinary nurse and has been working at Ashfield House since 2016.

She has an English Springer Spaniel named Bella who is 7 years old and a cat called Finn who was rescued in 2019. I love celebration fuddles because food is my main passion.

Luke first joined the Byron Clinic in 2010 as part of ongoing school work experience. During this time is also achieved his National Diploma in animal management at Brackenhurst college.

Luke is now a Nursing Assistant and is due to start his Veterinary Nursing course later this year. Luke has a wide range of job roles ranging from lab work, animal handling, weight clinics, front of house work and cleaning.

Outside of work he spends a lot of time walking with his partner and his rescue dog Milo, who he rescued back in 2016. Other hobbies includes going to the gym, seeing friends and family and generally creating memories!

Kayleigh has been working at the Byron branch since 2007 and is involved in both Veterinary nursing and front of house. She has a keen interest if weight clinics and running Puppy Clubs. She is a qualified Nursing Assistant.

Kayleigh has several pets at home, including a little sausage dog called Chester who can often be seen patrolling the clinic. She also loves to horse ride and spend time with her husband and two gorgeous girls.

Deb has been with Ashfield since 2002, starting work as a receptionist. Since 2015, Deb completed her Animal Care Assistant course where she graduated with Merit, and has become a valued member of the nursing and animal care team. Deb enjoys the more hands on roles with the animals within the hospital and surgery.

Deb is a qualified first aider, looking after our clients and staff should we ever need her.

She is known as ‘Mrs Christmas’ because of her love of organising all things Christmassy in the practice. She has two cats, and enjoys walking, yoga, reading and spending time with her family.

Rebecca previously ran our Bramcote branch between 2007-2016 and then returnied in 2019 in a part time role.

-Canine and feline nutrition
– Advanced diploma in Herpetology.

Rebecca is currently studying Advanced Biology & Quantum physics

When not in work she is a full time mum to her young daughter Matilda Alice, and she has three cats called Hunter, Adder and Boba Fett.

My name is Eniko Kiss and I am a Nursing Assistant at Ashfield House in Long Eaton. Currently I am studying Animal Care at Broomfield College, therefore in the future I would like to improve my skills and become a qualified Veterinary Nursing Assistant. I have always adored animals, had a passion working with them, helping and caring for them. In my free time, I like being in the nature, especially hiking in Peak District and Lake District. I also like practicing yoga, horse riding and spending time with my friends.

Before joining our team in 2023, Lucy spent four years as a theatre assistant at a veterinary referral centre. In her own time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking and going out for meals. She loves all types of animals, but has a big soft spot for chocolate Labradors.

Eileen joined the Ashfield House team in 2018, and achieved a merit in her veterinary nursing course. She previously worked in a veterinary referral centre, and has a keen interest in supporting brachycephalic breeds. She is also our lead nursing assistant and in-house wellbeing champion. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her family and their dog.

Nicole joined the team in 2020, and loves the varied nature of her role. When she’s not busy looking after her two dogs, guinea pig, bearded dragon and tropical fish, she loves trampolining and hitting the shops for some retail therapy.
